Summary: The value of this position is the candidates ability to lead the overall interior design strategy for projects as well as requiring a thought leader ability regarding client maintenance and business development. The senior interior designer position supports project teams to plan, design, and produce documents, bid, and administer projects successfully. The senior interior designer performs diverse tasks on multiple projects and enthusiastically supports and communicates the firm's design philosophy in their daily work. This position shall also provide Interior design leadership for projects and clients consistent with the goals and resources of the Owner and company.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from four-year College or university (Interior Design/Architecture)
- 7 to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years' office experience with interior design emphasis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for participation in marketing efforts for interior design projects and other projects requiring interior design services.
- Daily collaboration with all project team members, including Project Designers, Project Architects and
Project Manager.
- Demonstrate ability to carry out design concepts into interior design documentation and delivery while contributing to program integrity and design intent throughout all phases of a project: Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation and Construction Administration.
- Ability to complete these concepts graphically through two and three dimensional drawings, including but
Not limited to spatial diagrams, rendered floor plans, interior elevations, 3D renderings, etc. to convey design intent in a presentation format to clients.
- Revit design/drawing proficiency is required.
- Design/drawing proficiency within 2D programs such as the Adobe Creative Suite is required.
- Complete client's objectives within limits of companys project scope, budget and schedule. Exhibit a genuine customer-focused approach.
- Complete all work with the highest level of technical accuracy possible in conformance with company standards.
- Seek out resources, mentors, benchmarking, trends, and market vision to develop and enhance expertise.
- Ability to coordinate with MEP engineers and other consultants pertinent to the delivery of a project.
- Develop and produce construction documents accurately and independently.
- Active participation, coordination, and leadership pertaining to interior space planning and programming, FF&E, signage and graphics, lighting and other interior elements.
- Monitor the original design intent and provide leadership in all modifications of design in Contract
Documents and Contract Administration phases.
- Work closely with team members, Code and ADA resources, Cost Estimator, etc. to achieve a design solution which meets all required criteria within the scope of the project.
- Actively utilize and review Company, AIA and other standards, forms and procedures that define the project process.
- Active participation when called upon in marketing the firm's qualifications by participating in presentations, job interviews, and client networking.
- Miscellaneous other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrate familiarity with interior construction methods, finishes and materials and their costs.
- Ability to create interior finish palettes, order physical material samples for projects, and have an advanced understanding of materials suitable for commercial environments including but not limited to higher education, healthcare, and other public environments.
- Demonstrate ability to work with clients to reach consensus in project goals and appropriate design solutions.
- Effective communication and presentation skills with an ability to explain and substantiate design concepts.
- Demonstrate ability to work with project team members to develop interior design solutions into constructible and affordable form.
- Working knowledge of furniture and equipment systems that impact spatial configuration.
- Familiarity with building and fire codes, environmental concerns, ADA requirements, as they pertain to the interior environment.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuing education through regular review of design journals, in-house
Product presentations, attendance of local design presentations.
- Attend at least one outside design-related conference, class, or seminar yearly and one for general professional enhancement.
- Active participation in DG in-house educational programs including research, class attendance and teaching courses.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Ability to contribute to the mentorship of Junior Interior Designers and Interns working on a project team.

-Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, it is desirable for the individual to have a working knowledge of the latest software including Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), related design software and Microsoft Office.
